For many years the canoeing industry has been synonymous
with the Mohican area.
With many canoe liveries operating on the Mohican
- Ohio's newest Scenic River, enthusiasts floating
the cool waters in canoes, kayaks, and rafts are
a common sight
from early spring into the fall. It's an activity
enjoyed by adventurers of all ages.
We also have more to offer than simply river fun.
Mohican State Park has several scenic hiking and
bridle trails. A rugged mountain biking trail is
the latest addition, and has been described as having
the best flow and scenery of any mountain bike trail
in Ohio.
Some of the finest fishing in Ohio is found here.
Early spring and fall is the time to try Pleasant
Hill Lake for saugeye, crappie, and bass. Charles
Mill Lake near Mifflin is popular for crappie and
bass, as well as catfish. If flyfishing is your
preference, try the Clearfork River or the Kokosing
River.
With our rolling valleys and wooded hills, it's
no wonder some of Ohio's most scenic golf courses
are located in Mohican Country. Changes in elevation
offer spectacular views from tee to green. You'll
find a wonderful selection od courses to suite your
style of play.
Need more convincing? You'll also find go-carts,
putt-putt golf, paintball,
athletic fields, horseback riding, and so much more.
As you can see,
Mohican Country is truly a four-season recreation
destination for both young and old.
